Art Classes on Saturday afternoon- Play with Paint

Hi all,
Play with Paint.
An art class with no pressure!! Just come and play. Even if you think you are not 'ARTY' come and give it a go. I will be teaching acrylic painting and each week will teach a few more techniques such as colour mixing, mark making, using stencils, properties of acrylics, and using additives. I will also give on going advice on composition, tones, and focal points. We can also explore themes such as floral art, abstract and landscape. I will also include drawing and transferring images onto canvas. Bring in an idea if you would like to do something more specific. Even if you have painted before and would like to maybe get the creative juices flowing again, please feel free to come as well.
Cost :$25 per session. All paint, brushes, stencils etc will be provided. I will be supplying Atelier paints which are a great quality as well as good brushes. Canvases at a reasonable price will be for sale but you are welcome to bring your own as well.
Where: Elizabeth Community and Art building. Cream building opposite the yoga centre.
Dates: 30 September, 14 October, 28 October, 11 November, 25 November. Start up again in the New year. Other times could be available if there are the numbers so please request it if Saturday afternoons does not suit you.
Time: 02h30 pm to 05h30pm.
Textile classes start 23 September.

SLOW STITCH// HOT TEXTILES
Boro#eco dying#fabric jewellery#heat textiles#dissolving#up cycling#printing#rust and discharge#bead and cord making#felting#weaving fabrics.
Come and join me in a stimulating, fun, creative class, where each week a new technique using fabrics will be explored. Stay for the afternoon or just drop in.
All ages and abilities are most welcome.
I am aiming to create an exciting group where creativity and experimenting is the main focus , as well as a relaxed environment where like minded people can get together. Up cycling, recycling, using up all those bits and pieces that get hoarded.
Cost: Each class will cost $10 and most specialized bits will be provided such as solvy with the generous funding of the Creative Communities Scheme.
Where: The classes will be held in the Elizabeth Street Community and Art building, the cream one opposite the yoga centre.
Classes up to December
23 September- 02h30pm to 05h00pm. Boro and Kantha stitching. Bring in any scrap fabric( some will be supplied as well) and any embroidery threads, scissors etc. A few sashiko threads will be supplied.
7 October- 02h30pm to 05h00pm. Wet felting. Experiment making balls, discs, beads, cords and flowers. Wool roving supplied.
21 October-02h30pm to 05h30pm Solvy ideas. Bring scraps, sewing machine (if you have one), threads etc.
4 November- Fabric jewellry. Bring in any scraps, beads etc.
18 November- Tyvek, bondaweb, organza and felt with heat gun.
2 December- Textile printing. Paint supplied, Bring scraps of fabrics.
16 December- Up cycling clothes. Bring in an item of clothing that needs a re vamp and bits that could be added to it.
Start up again in the New Year. Dates and classes to be advised.

I have been awarded funding by Creative Communities Scheme. Thank you so much! I will be starting Creative textile classes at the Elizabeth street community and art centre, the cream building opposite the yoga centre. They will start on the 23 September 2017 and will run through to the following April. The dates are yet to be finalised but it will be on Saturday afternoons from 02h00pm until 05h00pm. I will have a theme each which I will advertize on Event finder and the creative BOP newsletter. I will be teaching classes on boro stitching, sashiko, omiyage, textile printing, dyeing, discharge, felting, using solvy, fabric bead making and much much more.
Texture class. We sponged, scraped, stencilled, glazed, printed with plastic bags, bubble wrap and an onion!

I will be starting art classes in Welcome bay , a date to yet be finalized. A choice of canvasses will be available to purchase and a selection of paints and brushes, sponges, will be provided etc. This painting is by a first time painter, he was in his 50's and loved every minute of the process.
